Happy Birthday Angie...you are missed!

~Angela Ruth DeLyser ~
September 25 1979 - February 5 2005

I wanted to pay tribute to one of my all time best friends. I am a few days late, but I wanted to celebrate by posting on her Birthday rather than on the day we lost her. Angie was such an amazing person and friend. I have never before, and never will again, have the connection with anyone that I had with Angie. We had a special bond that you only understand if you know the circumstances under which we meet. I apologise for those of you that don't know because I am not going to share it with you today, it is too private and dear to my heart. I will say though that me and Angie have been through a lot in our short time together on this earth. We understood what each other was going through because we both experienced it together.
Angie had to have been one of the funniest people I know!! We use to laugh for hours and hours until our sides hurt too bad to laugh any more! When she got sick I was worried the laughter would end, but it didn't, we kept right on laughing through the Chemo and the Radiation and the Surgeries. She was so strong and brave, I was so proud of her. We had our serious times too...times when she was afraid, times when we were sad and would cry together. I sat by her bed and tried to comfort her, knowing that this was the one thing that she had to go through alone. The trial that I did not experience and could not relate to. The trial that I could not speak from experience and tell her that I knew exactly what it felt like....the trial that ended her life.
I will NEVER forget my time with this AMAZING friend. I will ALWAYS miss her and have her in my thoughts. I know she is with us still, I could feel her presence on my wedding day and I know she watches over us. Ang ~ thank you for touching my life and for being there when I needed you most. I will never forget you, and miss you always!!
P.S. Thanks also for the middle name, I know Valerie will be proud to carry on your legacy!

Want some free stuff!?!

So I have been going to the gym like 5 or 6 days a week lately trying really hard to loose some weight. I have been thinking how nice it would be to have an IPod to listen to some music while I ran. I did NOT however want to pay $150 for it. Well I was at a friends house a little while back and she had an IPod sitting on her counter and I told her how jealous I was, she then told me it was FREE....yep folks you heard me right she got it for FREE!! It is a 4 gb silver IPod Nano. All you have to do is sign up for a Discover card using the link below, activate it, and make ONE purchase on it, and it's in the mail. I already got my card and made my purchase and am now waiting the 10 long weeks for it to arrive in the mail....totally worth the 10 weeks of waiting! So if you are in the market for a free IPod simply follow the link below: P.S. I get nothing for endorsing this, I just thought someone else might want one too. http://www.mymp3playeroffer.com/
Last but not least there is the snapfish offer(this one I do get something out of the deal). I signed up for a free account with snapfish and got some free photo prints. They have a deal going where for every person that I get signed up with them they will give me 20 more free prints. The great part about it is you get 20 for signing up, and then you can do the same thing I am doing...get all your friends signed up and get a bunch more free prints, you can't go wrong!! I can even find free shipping codes sometimes and I will let you know when I do. Seriously people it doesn't get any better than this...free prints with free shipping!! So in order for me to get credit you have to sign up through an e-mail that I send you. So if you are willing to sign up for a free account for me you have to leave me your e-mail address in a comment here, or e-mail me at lousheesh@hotmail.com. You don't even have to use the account ever I will still get free pictures just for you signing up, but if you want to get a bunch of free pictures just get your spouse and some friends to sign up for accounts too...Thanks a bunch!!!

The results are in...

Valerie's doctor called me this morning and Valerie does NOT have Cystic Fibrosis...YAY!! I am relieved even though I was sure she didn't have it, it was still good to have that confirmed. The other thing that I didn't talk about in my last post that I wanted to say, but ran out of time, is that I am SO grateful to have a healthy baby. Both of the times I had to go to Primary Children's I saw babies that were so sick and had tons of health problems and Brandon and I feel so blessed that we have a normal healthy baby! I have been thanking Heavenly Father in my prayers a lot lately, he has really blessed our family!

P.S. Thank you so much for all of your prayers, love, and support!! We love all of you!!

Poor Kid

Valerie had to go up to Primary Childrens Hospital to be tested for Cystic Fibrosis...which is a horrible thing to have by the way. They wanted to test her for it because one of the signs of it is not gaining weight I guess. People who have this only have a life expectancy of about 39 years of age and have to get a lung transplant sometime in their teens. I am confident that Valerie does not have it, but I wanted to post some pictures that I took with my phone to show what they had to do to her. They hooked her up to a machine for about 5 minutes (it sounds like a short time, but with your baby screaming at the top of her lungs for all 5 of them it seems like FOREVER!) that stimulated her sweat glands in her arms and then wrapped them in plastic wrap and then this orange bandage to collect her sweat. She had to wear the bandage for half an hour. Then they test the sweat to see if she has Cystic Fibrosis.

After her test was done they gave her this cute duck and she attacked it!! She gave it a huge open mouth kiss and smashed her face into laughing and laughing. I was glad the day had a good ending for her because she had been so traumatized before, she even screamed when they were unwrapping her arms and we know that didn't hurt...she was just so scared...well I think we are done with doctors for awhile now as long as the test comes back negative so that will be a nice break for her.

It's my turn.

This is Brandon, I never contribute to this but thought I would fill you in on some things that happened while Alisha was in "The TWILIGHT Zone". ( By the way, it's great to have you back wife)

It took a while but I did get our roof finished. Thanks to help from our awesome family and neighborhood friends. I'm so obsessive I even bought a special $10 can of spray paint and painted the furnace flu dark grey. Our house looks great. The next big projects are going to be a sprinkler system and some landscaping so she doesn't look so naked. I'm not going to show you any pictures of the back yard. We opted to not water it at all this year because we didn't feel like spending our summer moving a sprinkler around.

Valerie has teeth! The bottom 2 came in a few months ago and now she has one breaking through on the top. She hasn't acted like she was in pain at all, just alot of drool. She is also moving around alot more. She has walked with help for a while now but recently she has started standing up on her own for a few seconds at a time then slowly sitting back down. She is going to be walking in no time! We are getting the house baby proofed now that she is tearing into everything she can get to.

Oscar got to move back up stairs. Alot of people didn't even know we had a dog. He was exiled to live down stairs just before Valerie was born. Now that she's bigger and can defend herself from his licking attacks we invited him back upstairs. We have had to re-train him on a few things but for the most part he is doing really well. Sorry dude. It won't happen again. For a while at least.

A few months ago I went back to work for the company I was with a few years ago, Fetzer Architectural Woodwork (the picture is of a project I worked on when I was there before). The opportunity came up and it was a no brainer. My commute was cut from 30 minutes to 3 minutes each way. The benefits are amazing. It's a huge company so it's nice to have daily interaction with people. I work 5 days a week from 6:00 to 4:30. Most people would probably not like this but I'm a morning person and I like to get in alot of hours and finish up a little early. I also get to see my family at lunch because home is so close. I'm all around a happier person.
