Valerie had to go up to Primary Childrens Hospital to be tested for Cystic Fibrosis...which is a horrible thing to have by the way. They wanted to test her for it because one of the signs of it is not gaining weight I guess. People who have this only have a life expectancy of about 39 years of age and have to get a lung transplant sometime in their teens. I am confident that Valerie does not have it, but I wanted to post some pictures that I took with my phone to show what they had to do to her. They hooked her up to a machine for about 5 minutes (it sounds like a short time, but with your baby screaming at the top of her lungs for all 5 of them it seems like FOREVER!) that stimulated her sweat glands in her arms and then wrapped them in plastic wrap and then this orange bandage to collect her sweat. She had to wear the bandage for half an hour. Then they test the sweat to see if she has Cystic Fibrosis.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I used to work there and we tortured kids all day. SO SAD. I had to move to adults, kids just don't deserve it. Anyway..I pray the tests are negative too. CF is just such a tough disease to manage I have a good friend with it and she has to have a bilateral lung transplant. Yuck. We'll keep her in our prayers.
Ohh...so sad. its so hard to see your kids cry. Hey I just wanted to tell you Alice weighted 16Lbs at 10 months. Now she weighs 21.5! So I agree with you. I think Valarie is fine.
That stinks! Poor little thing. I hope all is well. Sometimes I think doctors worry more than they need too. Good Luck.
Poor little Valerie! I am glad the duck made her so happy. It is best to rule out the possibilites first before just saying, oh she's fine...but not so fun to go through all the tests. She's adorable as ever, and her hair is getting so long! Miss you, hopefully I will see you guys sometime at Wolf Creek. :) Love you!
ugh, I hate hospital experiences like this. She and Sammy should get together and share stories and trauma of Primary Childrens. Your family will be in our prayers.
That was the saddest post ever! Her sweet little arms wrapped in orange gauze :(
I pray everything works out for her. PCMC is an amazing place though. I've unfortunately had to bring Sophia there a few times, but they were always really nice.
BEST OF LUCK!
